Group Mini Conference 2026
On June 9, 2026, the Nanostructure Physics Group organized its annual Mini Conference at the Department of Physics, University of Ostrava.
The program featured nine presentations delivered by group members, covering a broad range of topics including two-dimensional materials, excitonic effects, quantum chemistry, photocatalysis, and scientific software development.
We were pleased to welcome our guest speaker, Naoures Kedidi (University of Monastir, Tunisia), who presented his research on novel 2D AsBiX₃ (X = S, Se, and Te) auxetic monolayers with promising optical and photocatalytic water-splitting properties.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity for researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students to present their recent results, discuss ongoing projects, and exchange ideas across different areas of nanoscience and computational materials research.
The scientific program was followed by an informal dinner, which offered additional space for discussions and strengthening collaboration within the group.
We would like to thank all speakers and participants for contributing to a successful and inspiring event.
